Inexpensive Upright Vacuums Under $100
These top rated cheap upright vacuums under 100 dollars balance price with performance. All four models in this 2017 review are available for a hundred dollars or less and actually do a good job cleaning your home.
1. BISSELL CleanView Plus Rewind Bagless Vacuum Model, 3583
The Bissell Cleanview Plus 3583 advertises its One Pass technology, where it basically has so much suction that you won’t need to go back over the same place twice, much less make multiple passes.
This budget vacuum has a full tool set, like the standard crevice tool, a dusting brush and an extension wand.
Bissell overall is one of the most reliable vacuum cleaner brands on the market. Consumer Reports says that only 7% of its uprights break down in a given year, far fewer than the 10% of Electrolux and 12% of Riccar vacuums that break down each year.
2. BISSELL CleanView Upright Vacuum 9595A
The Bissell 9595A upright vacuum is good for cleaning bare floors and has low emissions. You can read in reviews how well it cleaned carpet and picked up pet hair. It was average on noise generation.
This vacuum made the list because of its excellent performance, high customer ratings and barely making it under the $100 threshold. It’s price is about $120, but you can routinely find it at a cheap price of around $90.
The Bissell 9595A vacuum has strong suction, a high quality air filter, 5 height adjustments, 2.27 L dust cup in addition to its 25 foot cord. The only potential downside is the modest assembly required when you get it, having to snap in three separate items in lego-like fashion. It weighs 15.1 Lbs.
3. Hoover WindTunnel T-Series Rewind Plus Bagless Upright UH70120
This inexpensive vacuum cleaner is so good it was considered a Best Buy by Consumer Reports in 2014. It came in second place, just after an LG Kompressor that costs almost three hundred dollars more. The Windtunnel Rewind Plus received the highest marks in its performance on bare floors, total airflow, emissions and pet hair. It was average on noise.
The Hoover WindTunnel T-Series Rewind Plus is about $99 and sometimes available as low as $95.
The dust cup is large, but it is not always easy to remove. It has a full tool set, including an extension wand. At nineteen pounds, it isn’t the lightest of the vacuums we are reviewing today, but it has good maneuverability. Consumer Reports rated it average on handling. The automatic rewinding cord eliminates the hassle of moving the cord around as you clean the room.
Perhaps the biggest difference between the Plus and the Deluxe is that on the Plus, the on/off switch is farther down on the vacuum body than the Deluxe model. And the suction indicator on the Deluxe model doesn’t exist on the Plus. Both vacuums have good suction, but the Rewind Plus doesn’t have the red/green light to tell you when suction is fading.
4. Shark Bagless Navigator Freestyle Cordless Stick Vacuum SV1106
This affordable vacuum has settings for both bare floor and carpet. This light weight stick vacuum is easy to hold and maneuver. It has one of the largest dust cups on a stick vacuum.
This Shark vacuum has a price tag of about $100 but you can sometimes find it on sale or find coupons to lower the price to just $79.
The Shark SV1106 charges in four hours to run about 20 minutes. All stick vacuums have similar limitations on battery life. You can use a stick vacuum in place of a handheld vacuum, but it doesn’t replace an upright vacuum cleaner with a plug for cleaning tasks that take more than 20 to 30 minutes or anything that requires high suction for more than ten minutes.
