The Hoover GUV ProGrade Garage Utility Vacuum may not be the most eye-catching of models with its industrial look but it does lead to strong expectations of a powerful, professional clean. This tough-looking machine is designed for the garage and workshop and there are some clear pros and cons that show it is definitely best-suited to that area.
A workshop vacuum is all about power and heavy duty cleaning and this GUV Prograde vacuum is able to provide just that.
One of the key selling points in the specification for this vacuum is the fact that it is a garage model and, as a result, there are some high expectations about the quality of the clean. As a garage/workshop vacuum, this model needs to have the power and capabilities to deal with a lot of dust and dirt in difficult situations and this bagless model promises to have the power – through the 10 amp motor – and the capacity to deal with those big job with minimal fuss. The additional benefit here is that it comes with 7 different cleaning attachments – a floor nozzle, upholstery nozzle, dusting brush, 2 extension wands for the tricky corners and a dusting brush. When all of these elements are combined, this vacuum has been able to deal with a wide range of spills, such as dirt, sand and dead leaves, to clean the whole work space with impressive results.
Because this is a vacuum for the garage, it is far from pretty but it does have some additional features for user convenience.
The Hoover L2310 could well be one of the most unattractive vacuums you will have ever considered with its big steel canister, long hose and little else but it does not need to be pretty in this environment as it is not a household vacuum cleaner out on show. The heavy duty construction and strong cleaning ability is more important than user convenience but there are still some key additional features here that have helped buyers. One of the most interesting is the wall mount that keeps the bulky machine out the way when not it use, which does make a big difference, and another is the fact that that large canister has a self-cleaning filter so there is no need to change it and get messy. There are, however, a few areas where buyers wish that there was more to make the job easier, such as wheels on the bottom of the canister to help move the heavy weight around, and there have also been complaints about the noise.
The final verdict on this wall mounted Hoover GUV ProGrade Garage Utility Vacuum
There are some areas with this vacuum where criticism is to be expected; the quality of the suction is always going to be a matter of personal preference and a heavy duty, steel machine with a deep clean in mind is going to be difficult to move around and a bit noisy. There are drawbacks to consider but the fact that this machine offers such a strong clean across a dirty work area and garage, through such a great range of attachments, means that it is still highly recommendable for that particular environment.
